polanka polish market! BIG JAR OF SAUERKRAUT

me and chris went to the polanka market on plymouth road in livonia to pick up dinner because i have been craving and dreaming of stuffed cabbage for approx. one month now.

they were about to close so we ran in during the last 15 minutes they were open and grabbed the last container of stuffed cabbage. and a BIG JAR OF SAUERKRAUT.

the polanka market has fresh kielbasa, pork loin loaf, pate, baked bacon all made on the premises. also all bread and pastries are made in-store using old world recipes!

apparently they also have the largest selection of head cheese (which is not much of a cheese at all) in livonia, and a wide variety of herring.

plain h
erring, creamed herring, pickled herring, herring in wine sauce, herring in paprika, herring, herring, more herring...

i'm kind of creeped by head cheese but maybe someday i'll eat it anyways. there's not much that i won't eat. maybe i'll eat a herring too.

everyone there spoke polish. i do not speak polish, but i was fascinated.

we came home and warmed our stuffed cabbage and our BIG JAR OF SAUERKRAUT. it was super fantastically delicious, and we all lived happily ever after.

here is a picture of our giant sauerkraut jar in the fridge after we ate some --->

i can't figure out how to put captions on pictures that i post.

it's a lot of sauerkraut though.
